January 2015 – Lake Hawkins

The Scoop:

Picking up exactly where we left off.....

Another Tyler Fisher Win!.

For the first time in years, we moved off of a Heated Power-Plant lake in January to a "Normal" lake; one that's COLD (like it should be). And while the 43-46 degrees water did make it difficult for most to boat fish, a couple managed to fill the livewell.

It was cold and gray and damp and the end. And for the first time I recall, no one even fished on Sunday due to the worsening weather and the Cowboy Playoff Game (It was a Catch).

Mr. Tyler Fisher starts off the new year with a super win. Tyler brought in a limit of 19.57 lbs. Coming in a very solid second place was Tim Haugh and his 4 fish at 13.16. And rounding out the money was Mr. Jody Sharp in third place with 8.95 lbs. There was only 1 limit, a couple with four fish, two with 3 fish, three with 2 fish, two with 1 fish and seven with ZERO fish...... that makes Tyler's 20 pound limit even more impressive.

And then there's Timmy!!!!!! Tim Haugh smashed the Side-Pot with a giant 7.45 beauty!!!!!!! That fish will net Tim around $400 or so of Side-Pot Money. Congrates Tim!. The side pot starts over next month. "Coach" Tommy Crammer had the tournaments Second BIG Bass with a very very nice 6.17 pounder!!!

We only had 17 show up. Thats about 12-15 less than a normal January tournament. The weather kept many out. We also have a couple down from Injuries and at least two waiting on their New Boats! We fish Lake Palestine next month and it should be a great turnout. February on Palestine can produce GIANT Fish and Stringers!
