Texas TBF announced the date for the State Championship Tournament. The tournament will be April 18-19 and the lake will be announced probably in early March. This date conflicts with the date for our monthly tournament. There was discussion about moving our tournament again so as not to conflict. Good reasons were given for both arguments. There were seconded motions for both leaving the date and for changing it. The vote was 12-4 in favor of moving the tournament. The new date for our April Club Tournament will be the weekend of April 4-5. Since this will be before our regular club meeting, the lake for this tournament will be drawn by the officers on March 31 and posted that evening to our club website and Facebook page. Lake will then be off limits until the date that you fish. In other words, if you are fishing Sunday, you may not fish on Saturday to practice.
There was a proposal to consider having the option of a Lie Detector for the April Championship Tournament (held in conjunction with our regular club tournament). This was brought before the club for consideration and discussion over the next month and will be voted on at the March club meeting. It was suggested that this might be considered, not because of a lack of trust, but as a measure to help resolve any concerns if they may arise. The pot on this tournament may be over $2000. Cost for the lie detector would be approximately $400. If approved, the lie detector will be an option, not a requirement. It will be used only upon a decision by the Board of Directors in response to a complaint or protest.
ETBA Open Tournament will be Memorial Day Weekend, May 23. Start working on donations and raffles. Josh Dickens is going to check with Gander to see about give-aways and a possible sign-up event.
March Tournament is at Lake of the Pines, we will launch from Cedar Springs Ramp (155 Bridge area).
Monthly February Tournament is this weekend at Bob Sandlin.
